The Town of Fort Lawn in Chester County is inviting the public to join them for a 9/11 anniversary program at 6 p.m. September 11 in front of the 9/11 memorial outside the Fort Lawn Community Center off S.C. 9.
The town’s sculpture memorial is made from metal pieces of the World Trade Center towers that were destroyed by the terrorist attacks on New York City and Washington, D.C., on Sept. 11, 2001.
Richard Hulse, a longtime volunteer firefighter in Fort Lawn who is originally from New York, obtained the metal pieces from New York. Lancaster sculptor Don Doster created the monument.
